Body image self esteem iuesss might certainly be on the radar, but I definitely blame the guys. I've been watching this happen for many years; Women will show up to try the nude beach, single or with another woman, cute or not, the single guys hit on them, and/or gawk at them the whole time they're there, then you never see those women again. 99.9% of the women that show up at naturist places despise being hit on or gawked at. For some reason (testosterone overload) some guys don't get that. Some guys will even hit on married women, right in front of their spouse. Most of the regulars have had to chase off more than their fair share of those kind of guys, but that doesn't bring back the women, or change the flavor of the experience.Pirate's cove was the worst place for that, where entire groups of fully clothed migrant farm workers would come down after mass on Sunday afternoons and scour the beach for the best looking women, then move in next to them, start drinking their Budweiser and shamelessly gawk like there was no tomorrow. The woman would move, or leave; the farm workers would change locations in favor of the next best looking victim. We used to say There goes the neighborhood every time new girls would show up at San O, because we knew all the single guys and clothed creepers were about 30 seconds behind. And we always knew as the women left for the day usually pretty quickly after being hit on that they wouldn't be back. The issue of women's distaste of being hit on, or gawked at, doesn't just affect single women or newbies either. I've met plenty of men over the years who's spouse is no longer interested in naturism, due to that sole reason (my own wife being not far behind, in truth). I've also met some single women who love to enjoy naturism, but only prefer the better naturist clubs, and go out of their way to avoid the single-male-naturist experience.Anyway, just thought I'd share my observations on that subject. I definitely blame the guys and my wife agrees. +4Was this answer helpful?

You seem to be missing the point. Most women don't want to pay a mteirc assload of money to rub elbows with creeps. TAM went from 40% female registration (which is extraordinary) to 18% at present (which is pathetic) and that is before the current crap-fest erupted, for which DJG blamed Watson, et al. Based on internet commentary, the number of women at TAM will likely decline further in the future, and you can guaran-damn-tee that the huge delta there doesn't consist entirely of evil female supremacists who want to ruin your good-natured fun. All Watson said was uh, don't do that when some douchecanoe propositioned her in an elevator at 4:30 am after a talk about not doing that. It isn't goddamn rocket science, and you know what, she still getting attacked, and pretty much everything else anyone has said afterward is a response to that flood of hate-spew. And another thing: if some creepy swingers propositioned me with a card like that after I gave a public talk, I wouldn't have written an unhappy blog post, I would have lost my damned mind right then and there and tracked their asses down to return it personally. That is NOT acceptable, I don't care who the hell they are. Xenu help em if they did that to my wife. I cannot comprehend why pointing this out rustles the jimmies of every scruffy goat rapist on the internet. It surely isn't serving to open the hearts and minds of the magically inclined, who are supposed to be the targets our JREF's efforts, and it sure as hell has soured me on ever attending any event purporting to represent organized skepticism. I get enough libertarian man-child herp-derp in my daily life as a computer scientist, thank you very much. If I wanted more of that, I'd take up Warhammer or go to Objectivist meetings (or somesuch) as a hobby. Spending time with the likes of the fearless leaders of the Men's Rights Movement here would be hard pressed to compete with the charms of a quiet afternoon spent ramming railroad spikes into my orbits. That I'd part money for the privilege is laughable, and it would be doubly so were I the proud bearer of a vagina. THAT is the point. So whether or not all of the pedantic arguments of hairy-chested e-experts are right or wrong, the fact of the matter is that unless the ship is righted immediately then you guys will have no one to blame but yourselves when you are all banging your cocks together at the annual meeting of The Amazing He-Man Woman-Haters Club due to the absence of the softer sex. At least it will be in Las Vegas, so you can possibly fill the absence with blackjack and hookers. But hey, congratulations, you won an internet fight, lol!

Well, I've made it clear that I'm personally not 100% on the side of this blggoer, but I do think they have some valid points to make. And I also feel that the hatred Watson gets is over-the-top, but at the same time, I don't think she's above reproach. And again, I'll point to how Skepchick was falling over itself with praise for the last TAM, but in the last 11 months has done an about-face and has declared that TAM is bad for women and is not a safe space. I'm sorry, but that stinks to high heaven; something is just not right.I think there's wrong being done on BOTH sides of this squabble, and at this point it doesn't matter who's wrong is worse. The problem is we have people on both sides digging in their heels and refusing to budge. There's screwed-up human beings in the mix here (and I don't mean that as a slam to anyone, to my mind being human is to be screwed-up by definition) and lots of emotions at play, including a lot of wounded ego and injured pride on both sides. And yes, prejudice. I do believe there's some sexism going on, but also I think sometimes (not always) folks can see prejudice where possibly none was intended or no ill-will felt. I've seen that with feminists, with pagans/wiccans, with gays, etc. I've dealt with folks who are sexist and racist; I have an acquaintance who is rather sexist, quite racist, but without a trace of homophobia. I've dealt with women who intensely hate men and assume men only want to get laid. Look at Dianic Wiccan Z. Budapest, who raised ire at a pagan gathering for declaring her women-only circles were openly only to those who were born women, e.g. no transsexuals allowed. I knew a self-styled feminist who felt that men were menaces to society and should be eliminated, and another who just shrugs and says We're all messed up in this world, and invites me over for dinner and bad movies.Despite the rambling, my point is, I've seen it all before. Are sexual assaults being covered up at TAM or other skeptic events? I don't know, I'd like to see both sides of the issue. Are people being sexist? Or overly touchy? A large part of it is in our perceptions. So what if the next TAM is only 18% women? There's still women going and presenting, women who DO feel it's safe space. And I'm waiting to hear anything they have to say about it. It could very well be this is all a temporary aberration and next year it'll be back up again. Who knows? Maybe this will all blow over. Maybe DJ Grothe will resign in disgrace and go to a farm to raise turnips. Maybe Rebecca Watson will be revealed as a liar and end up working at McDonald's. (Not that I think either of them are evil and deserve that, but it's always a possibility.) There's little way of knowing what the future holds. And even if this new blood you spoke of once rises up and starts its own string of events, it's not going to be sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows. I say it's almost guaranteed that this vaunted new blood will suffer it's own internal conflicts and accusations of prejudice (either the same or different ones I'm waiting for shrieks about speciesism if it's held in a hotel that serves meat), because history repeats itself.Because new blood or not, they're still human, and fall prey to human nature, in all its glorious ugliness.

the rise of incest cases arnoud the world (Columbia, Austria and England), there's a reason why Australia is very adamant about child pornography.Back to your pictures,In regards to the willingness of people from the developing countries to allow to have their pictures taken, it's all about education, and with it, affluence: the more you're informed, the more you're paranoid about stuff, and the more you would rather not have anyone take your pictures. This is why some photographers enjoy taking pictures of people in a rural community or village. But all in all, the pictures you've taken are amazingly astounding. Now, I'm gonna try digging out this one picture I take where there is this drunken guy singing in Hindustan inside the MRT while stationary at Marina Bay
